Action Week for Mental Health at VULKAN do Brasil
As part of “White January”, a social movement that aims to build a culture of mental health in society, VULKAN do Brasil held an action week for the mental and emotional stability of its workforce from January 20 to 23, 2025, together with psychologist and behavioral therapist Sandra Nunes.

January is the month dedicated to raising awareness of mental and emotional health in Brazil and is known as “White January”. The campaign aims to promote discussions about mental wellbeing and encourage people to take care of their mind and emotional health. In 2023, this campaign was even anchored in a federal law, making it an official milestone in the Brazilian calendar.
The choice of the term “White January” has its origins in the symbolism of the beginning of the year, when many people traditionally set themselves goals, formulate good resolutions and think about changes and new beginnings. Like a blank page, the month is an opportunity to rewrite stories, make plans for the future and take care of your own health, which is unfortunately often neglected in the hectic pace of the rest of the year. This also includes mental well-being.
To give employees' mental health the attention it deserves, psychologist and behavioral therapist Sandra Nunes visited VULKAN do Brasil at the beginning of the year. In several sessions with the entire workforce, she explained to the participants the importance of mental health care in their everyday lives and raised their awareness of the need for greater mindfulness.
“During this event, basic questions about mental health were clarified and our employees received valuable tips for more self-care in everyday life,” says Marco Santos, HR Director at VULKAN do Brasil. “The message of ”White January" applies to us as an employer and to each and every one of us, and of course not just this month. The mental health of our colleagues is an important issue that deserves our constant attention. That's why we keep reminding ourselves of the importance of mental and emotional well-being with campaigns like this," he explains.
